Decide what a good sale means to you

Selling your car in Orange County starts with a decision about your priorities. Write down whether you most need a clear price comparison, less time handling inquiries or help coordinating the process. A private listing, a direct dealer request and a coordinated service involve different amounts of work. None is automatically the right choice for every owner.

Set a realistic window for making decisions. If you need the car until a particular date, say that before arranging an inspection. If you have already agreed to sell to someone, resolve that commitment before seeking a conflicting arrangement. An inquiry is useful only when you are clear about what you can actually accept.

Prepare a consistent description

Record the year, make, model, trim if known, mileage and location. Add known damage, warning lights and modifications. Use the same information for each buyer so you are comparing the same vehicle rather than differently described versions of it. Say when a detail is unknown instead of filling the gap with a guess.

You can begin a Carblanche request with year, make and model. Mileage, an Orange County location and contact details follow. The pilot covers paid-off, clean-title vehicles that run and drive, with an asking price of $20,000 or less. The asking limit is an eligibility condition, not a promise of what the car is worth.

Compare the offer and the remaining work

For each available offer, record the amount, deductions, inspection conditions and expiry. Ask who would buy the car, who would pay you and where the handover would happen. A number without those details is an incomplete basis for a decision. Carblanche helps request local dealer offers; the purchasing dealer buys and pays for the vehicle.

For example, one hypothetical quote might require a second inspection while another already reflects an inspection. You cannot judge the difference by the headline amounts alone. Ask what could change and request clarification before treating either figure as final. This example illustrates a comparison method, not an actual customer transaction.

Finish with a handover checklist

Before releasing the car, confirm the buyer, final written terms, payment verification and required paperwork. Check current California DMV instructions for your transaction. Keep your own record of the agreed amount, date and parties, and follow the applicable reporting steps after the sale.

You remain free to decline an available offer that does not fit your priorities. During the Carblanche pilot there is no seller commission and no obligation to sell. An offer, multiple offers, a higher price or a particular completion date is not guaranteed. Start a request when the car fits the pilot and you want help exploring your local options.
